Let’s be real for a second.
Gaming is supposed to be fun. It’s where we go to escape the chaos of real life—where we can be space wizards, Italian plumbers, eldritch cowboys, or sweaty kill-stealers. And whether you’re neurotypical, neurospicy (shoutout my ADHD and autistic fam 💛), casual, cracked, or chronically bad at platformers (hi, it’s me), gaming is supposed to be the great equalizer.
But lately? It’s felt more like a battlefield—not just in-game, but in the vibe department.
Toxicity’s been creeping in like that one teammate who rushes mid and dies 0.3 seconds into the round. We’ve all seen it: the rage, the slurs, the “go back to Fortnite, kid” energy, the trolling, the gatekeeping, the “try getting good” comments when you’re just here to relax after a long day of dealing with… everything else.
And for some of us—especially neurodivergent gamers—that toxicity hits different.
So here’s the mission:Let’s make gaming better. Not perfect, not kumbaya 24/7, but more welcoming, more uplifting, and way less soul-crushing.
This isn’t just another blog about “being nice.” This is about building a whole dang culture where:
Kindness isn’t cringe.
“Different brains” aren’t seen as bugs—they’re features.
Everyone feels like they’ve got a seat at the virtual table (even if that table is a chaotic Discord VC full of memes and random screaming).
We’re not gonna fix the internet in one post, but we can start by hitting “continue” on something better. So buckle up, grab your snacks, and let’s talk about:
